Privacy policy

Last updated 8 October 2026

Paydar doesn't collect any personal data. What you enter stays on your iPhone, and on your Apple Watch if you use the watch app. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app has no server and makes no network requests of its own.

What Paydar stores, and where

The subscriptions you add (names, plans, prices, how often they bill, the next charge date, categories, notes and your answers to "Worth it?") and your settings (currency, reminder time) are kept in one file in the app's storage on your iPhone. The widgets read that same file. If you use the Apple Watch app, a copy of your list is sent to your watch through Apple's WatchConnectivity, which is a direct link between your own devices. None of it is sent to me or to anyone else.

What I collect

Nothing. Paydar has no account system, no server, no analytics, no crash reporting of its own, no advertising and no third-party code that collects data. This matches the "Data Not Collected" label on the App Store page.

Apple runs the App Store. If you have turned on "Share With App Developers" in your iPhone's analytics settings, Apple may give developers anonymous crash and usage statistics. They do not identify you, and I don't receive anything that does.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone itself, as local notifications. They don't pass through a server. You can switch them off in Paydar or in iOS Settings, Notifications, Paydar.

Links and the web

"How to cancel" and "See what Apple bills you for" open a web page in Safari or the App Store: the provider's own cancel or account page, your Apple subscriptions page, or, when Paydar has no direct link for a service, a web search (Google) for "how to cancel" and the service's name. Those pages and the search engine have their own privacy policies. Paydar doesn't see what you do there.

Spreadsheets

When you import, you choose a file with the system file picker and Paydar reads only that file. When you export, the file goes where you choose to save it.

Purchases

Paydar is free to download. The one in-app purchase, Paydar Unlimited, which lets you track more than 3 subscriptions, is sold by Apple. Apple handles your payment and your Apple Account under Apple's privacy policy, and Paydar never sees your payment details. I don't receive your name, payment details or Apple Account. Apple gives me sales reports (such as how many downloads and purchases there were in a country) that don't identify you. Paydar keeps a note on your iPhone of whether the purchase is yours, so it still works without a connection.

Backups

If you back up your iPhone with iCloud or a computer, Apple's backup may include Paydar's data, as it does for most apps. That is between you and Apple.

Children

Paydar is rated 4+ and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

In Paydar, tap the gear, then "Delete all subscriptions". Or delete the app from your iPhone (and from your Apple Watch), which removes its data from the device.
